What are the drawbacks of stamping bolts
    2023-05-10 14:54:58

Although flash stamping bolts have good economic basis, they still have a series of obvious drawbacks, such as low durability of stamping tools; Due to unfavorable metal flow conditions, the formation of hexahedra is uneven and the chamfer cracks; The requirements for raw rolling materials are high, and two annealing processes must be carried out when preparing for stamping and precision rolling profiles.

In addition, during the stamping process, it is necessary to ensure accurate edge cutting (in order to maintain the volume of the Bolt head unchanged) and accurate movement of the blank according to the workstation, as the bolt head may rotate during ejection, so the pre stamped hexagonal edge may not fully overlap with the hexagonal edge of the tool on the subsequent stamping station. This leads to the removal of the stamped hexahedron along the edge, resulting in the product being scrapped.

Therefore, it is necessary to manufacture bolts in the development of new processes. This process combines the advantages of a head with cutting edges (simple tools, accurate bolt head shape and geometric dimensions) and a non flash head (metal saving).

When maintaining the trimming process during the process, the metal savings are ensured by reducing the diameter of the cylindrical head before trimming.
